Our Beautiful Daughter!

Posted by Paige Categories: Uncategorized

That’s right! It is a girl! The ultrasound was such a cool experience – the baby moves around, waves, turns, she’s a regular acrobat. This picture is a profile. Her feet are up by her face – flexible little bugger!

Now it isn’t “the baby” or “it” or even “her” or “him” (DH and I kept going back and forth with our pronouns). Now our beautiful Daughter has a name. May we introduce,

That wouldn’t let me add an accent.  It should read Aellyn Leigh Renée… Continue reading Our Beautiful Daughter!

Baby's Room Done!

I’m so in love with it.  I know this is not “traditional” but …well…thank God!  Woohoo!  I love the black on black striped walls and I LOVE the dresser with the panda bear pulls.  I love the curtains and the bedding.  I love my comfy chair.  Sigh… Continue reading Baby's Room Done!

Talking Heads

Posted by Paige Categories: Uncategorized

It is amazing to me how your body talks to you when you are pregnant.  I mean, your body tells you things all the time, but when you are pregnant it really steps up the communication.  It says things like:

  1. I have to pee.  RIGHT NOW.
  2. That was disgusting.  NEVER eat it again.
  3. You think that hurts?  Try sitting at your computer without moving for an hour again and I’ll show you hip pain.
  4. You are hungry.  Eat something.  Now

And that would be why I’m up at 5AM.  Either my box of cheerios is performing mind control or my body… Continue reading Talking Heads

Barf

Posted by Paige Categories: Uncategorized

Ok, I was channeling Spaceballs there with that title.  Barf, I’m a mog!

I also titled this post Barf because that’s what I’ve been doing for 3 days.  I had the worst stomach flu ever.  It is so scary to have abdominal pain when you are pregnant because how do I tell my uterus, which isn’t where it normally is, from my intestines, which also aren’t where they usually are?  I’m feeling better today but my stomach and back muscles are so sore from dry heaving.  As DH so aptly said, “dry heaving is the best abdominal work out.”

Well I’m 19… Continue reading Barf

I Can't Wait to…go star gazing

Posted by Paige Categories: Uncategorized

The National Inventors Hall of Fame in Akron is closed and becoming a school. :( Such a bummer because it was really a lot of fun. I would have loved to take my kids there. So DH and I started talking about places we wanted to take our kids. Like COSI in Columbus, Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland, and the Boston Science Museum Solar System walk. I can’t wait to see my kid’s eyes light up the first time she sees the moons of Jupiter or a sun spot during the day. My… Continue reading I Can't Wait to...go star gazing

Childbirth Fair

Posted by Paige Categories: Uncategorized

The hospital where my birthing center is located had a “Healthy Babies” fair this weekend.  My mom and dad came with me and DH.  We got to tour the birthing center and seeing it again was fantastic.  All the things that you might want to fight another hospital for (if you were interested in a more holistic birth) are routine at Robinson.  I’m so excited to have found such a great birth center close to home!  In addition to the tours they had all kinds of booths set up and free goodies.  I got to introduce my mom to my… Continue reading Childbirth Fair

Things That Suck About Being Pregnant

Posted by Paige Categories: Uncategorized

1.  Gagging.  Ok, Morning sickness sucked and I’m so glad that is behind me but now I have the joy of almost vomiting every morning when I try to brush my teeth.  Seriously I’ve always had (ahem..proudly) little to no gag reflex.  Not any more!

2.  Back ache, hip ache, pelvic ache.  I thought these types of things came the bigger you get.  WRONG.  It is the hormones that do it.  Some time I get up from a chair and I feel like a geriatric.

3.  Stretch Marks.  If you are someone who didn’t get them – you suck.  I always knew… Continue reading Things That Suck About Being Pregnant
